Love. Magic. Fate. Best-selling romance novel author Karmina Joan writes about these things. She believes that every person has a purpose, that every soul has a destiny to fulfill. She thought hers was simply sharing her stories.

Her story unfolds with Cupid, the Angel of Love himself. He brings with him a mysterious vessel and a message from on high. It turns out Karmina has a bigger purpose after all—a mission that will make or break humanity as we know it.

As Cupid teaches her the tricks of his trade, Karmina unknowingly gives him something unexpected in return— something the angel of love will find oddly familiar. This may become the one flaw in an otherwise perfect plan that destiny had in store for them.

Does love truly conquer all or are there limits to what humanity can do in the name of love? Witness as Karmina struggles to find the answers before time runs out on true love.

review

I decided to join the blog tour because I wanted to try something new. Surely, I wanted to prove that one book will not cover for an entirety of titles, and of different genres and writing styles. I once read a Pop Fiction book before and ended up not liking it, after that I seemed to generalize every Pop Fiction book that was published. And as you can see, I’ve moved on from that phase and challenged myself to get involved and give it a second shot.

My journey with this book was one of a kind. I have my time with my fondness of angels but this one was quite the one that stood up among the others. Most YA (Young Adult) books with angels involved offers a more serious and action-packed scenarios. I couldn’t say that the story isn’t serious but it’s a deviation from the stories I’ve read involving angels. This book is quite chill and funny (or am I the only one?) and relaxing. And it does get serious though. I don’t think I’m making any point now. But guys, read this book. Like ASAP. It’s so good that I’m pretty sure you might devour it in one sitting!

I’m gonna try to tell you a summary that is spoiler-free so bear with me. So here’s how the story goes. It starts with Karmina Joan, a writer, a sibling, a very normal person. She was on her way home and riding the bus with a finished copy of her first published book when it began to rain and suddenly a storm starts. Fast forward to the future, she was celebrating a wedding and he begins to see this guy, and only she can see him. Turns out this guy was Cupid. Cupid then tells her about the mission she needs to complete before the year ends but what she wasn’t expecting was her entire self changing, and the entirety involves her feelings. — That’s all I can offer you guys. I don’t want to get to the good point, the bad point, and any other points because I’m trying to get you guys to read it. Soooo read it!

Anyway, back to my review. Regarding character improvements, I really liked how Mina was portrayed. Well, it was usually the normal stuff because the same old normal person gets chosen to be ‘the one’. But Mina showed a great deal of improvement. She’s mentioned a lot of realizations, optimism, and upholding pride. Also, the authors vivid exploration of the human race, how truly remarkable she has depicted every action and speeches. I got the feeling that the scenes were happening in front of me. It was live, it was also spontaneous that you’ll suddenly imagine how it might be so real. Cupid on the other hand was the sweetest ever. He’s a nonstop romantic and comedic at the same time.

Guys, guys, guys. Whatever you’re doing, I ask you to buy this book! It’s quite obsessing. Obvs. But I just want you to experience the rush of excitement and kilig (ki-lig: as in the feeling that you feel when you are sold to a love story that made your heart flutter) this story can offer. It can definitely make you smile like crazy. Plus, wouldn’t you want your heart breaking just for a minuscule of time? Even if your heart was breaking, it was definitely worth the read, the effort, and the time you’ve allotted reading. I’m such a picky reader but I definitely made the right choice 😉

Karmic Hearts will surely capture the hearts of its readers because of its uniqueness among other stories, the smiles and laughter it offers, the heartbreaks that one will truly feel, and the love that the writer has incorporated within the entire story.
